As a Software Architect, you provide technical direction for the development of state-of-the-art application software for challenging high-tech projects.
You will contribute to the development of complex high-tech products, often at the limits of what is technologically possible. Projects range from embedded software for advanced equipment control to sophisticated application software for equipment operation, image and data analysis, process management, and information visualization.
What you'll do
- Lead the architectural design and development of complex software systems, ensuring they meet performance, quality, and reliability requirements.
- Prepare technical proposals and feasibility studies in close collaboration with project managers, account managers, and customers.
- Work with project managers to define project organization, estimate timelines, and identify project risks along with mitigation strategies.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to development teams throughout the software development process.
- Coach and mentor engineers, supporting their professional growth through knowledge sharing and on-the-job guidance.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in embedded systems and application software, applying this knowledge to drive innovation.
What you bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- More than 10 years of experience in technical software development across multiple roles, products, and project environments.
- Proven experience as a Software Architect, with the ambition to further expand your architectural expertise.
- Strong programming skills in C# and C++ across different operating systems, including experience with state machines and real-time software.
- Extensive experience with modern software development methodologies, tools, and technologies, such as OOAD, Agile, TDD, and Model-Driven Software Development (MDSD).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex software and process-related issues and implement effective solutions.
- Experience working in dynamic environments with changing priorities, multiple concurrent projects, and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Valid European driving licence.
- Willingness to travel internationally (up to 10%).
