FPGA Designer

City: Eindhoven
FPGA Designer
As an FPGA Designer, you will design advanced FPGA-based electronics for high-tech systems and products.
In this role, you will contribute to electronics concepts and designs for complex high-tech systems where speed, accuracy, and advanced algorithms play a key role. The work is focused on customers in industries such as semiconductor equipment, analytical instrumentation, medical technology, RF, imaging, and radar systems, both in the Brainport region and internationally.
Your electronics expertise will help bring high-tech solutions to life, including systems such as electron microscopes, advanced pick-and-place machines, medical systems, and other precision technology platforms.

What you will work on
From the office in Eindhoven and, when needed, at customer locations, you will work on:
  • Designing, implementing, and verifying FPGA architectures and high-speed signal-processing pipelines for RF, imaging, and radar applications.
  • Integrating and optimizing advanced signal-processing algorithms on FPGA and GPU platforms for high-throughput, low-latency performance.
  • Developing solutions for high-speed data streams, including applications in the gigasamples-per-second range.
  • Collaborating in multidisciplinary teams across electronics, software, mechanics, mechatronics, mathematics, and system engineering.
  • Supporting system-level integration, debugging, and validation.
  • Taking ownership of technical components and contributing to architectural decisions.
  • Growing towards a technical lead role, depending on experience and ambition.
  • Sharing technical knowledge with colleagues and staying up to date with modern design flows, simulation methods, and development tools.

What you bring
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronics, electrical engineering, embedded systems, or a related technical field.
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong experience with FPGA design, including VHDL and/or Verilog.
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA design flows, simulation, verification, and development tools.
  • Experience developing high-speed signal-processing pipelines for RF, imaging, radar, or comparable applications.
  • Experience implementing advanced signal-processing algorithms on FPGAs or GPUs, optimized for high-throughput and high-clock-rate architectures.
  • Familiarity with high-speed board design is considered a plus.
  • A broad technical mindset and the ability to contribute across different engineering domains.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.

What is offered
  • A flexible 32–40 hour working week, with the possibility to work partly from home.
  • A strong focus on work-life balance.
  • 28 holidays, with the option to purchase additional leave days (up to 12 days).
  • Challenging high-tech projects for leading customers in advanced technology markets.
  • A multidisciplinary environment where electronics, software, mechanics, mechatronics, mathematics, and assembly come together.
  • A high level of freedom, responsibility, and ownership in your work.
  • Personal coaching and a yearly training.
  • Opportunities to continue developing technically and professionally.
  • A collaborative working environment with knowledge-sharing sessions, technical communities, and social activities.
  • A location in the heart of the Brainport region, with access to modern facilities for lunch, sports, music, and technical knowledge exchange.
